So i have this annoying issue with youtube (i use it on my main computer in chrome), when i click on a video i get "An Error occurred" and lots of static, then if i wait like another 30 seconds the video will play, its so annoying!

Anyone have a Solution for this? I have tried reinstalling chrome (since it worked perfectly in Firefox and  Edge) but to no avail, any possible solutions are welcome =)

Thank you for reading =)

I have been getting this recently at my college, where I have YouTube unblocked in class. I try and watch a YouTube video it'll do the same thing.

Never really experienced it at home, I think once or twice but I just restarted chrome and it was fine after that.

Try clearing your cache etc. if that doesn't help, I don't really know.

Have you also tried Google's support forums?

I've never really noticed what account I have been logged into as my accounts are all synced with Google and then signed into one on the Chrome Sign In feature.

Well that's weird, Have you tried looking on the Google forums like I've said? It's helped me in the past when trying to fix other issues with Chrome. You're saying this is just a chrome issue right with this account?

Only with chrome, just re-tested with Mozilla

That's really strange then, Have you tried clearing your YouTube search / watch history? If you're anything like me, you'll have hundreds on thousands of videos in there.

Just did, no change and i clean my history fairly often ;)

Right. Hmm, I'm really stuck for other solutions to this, only thing I keep suggesting is that you take a look over at the Google Support Forums.

If you find one, please make sure to let me know as I'd like to know for future reference.

What Operating System are you running, probably completely un-related to the issue but would be nice to know.

Right fair enough, That's quite weird haha.

Windows 10 isn't that bad but there's some problems that I'd like to remove as does everyone lol.

Windows 10 is what I'm running and at college we run Windows 7. This issue has also occurred previously on Windows 8.1

I sometimes got the same issue because I don't have adobe flash installed and youtube by default tries to use the flash video player. I fixed this by installing the addon:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-high-definition/?src=search

It has a bunch of useful settings including "make html5 my default video player" which bypasses flash video entirely.

Honestly not having flash in your life will remove the vast majority of exploits from your computer and html5 plays very well.

Well as i said, this issue was only there in chrome, not Firefox, i generally dont use Firefox except for when there is an compatibility issue with chrome

But hey the issue is resolved so no worries

I believe chrome removed java awhile ago. Perhaps they are taking similar steps with flash? It is almost outdated at this point and certainly a security risk and bloated so I can't blame them for forcing people to update one if they did the other.

Could be if it werent for the fact that only my main account was affected by this issue, on my side account it worked fine, on the same computer and using chrome
