Fan Curves?

How would one do it in bios?

It depends on your motherboard some will have the capability built right in while others are more limited. For most inside the BIOS you can set each header with a custom fan curved based on a temp probe inside the system.

Can someone explain to me how to setup a fan curve? Someone recently brought it to my attention that its ridiculous that I don't know how to setup a fan curve when my pc is fully kitted out with noctuas, but it's just not something I ever learned when I first taught myself to build PCs. If anyone could shed some light on this, I'd be most appreciative. It might also help my poor radiator to cool down if the fans actually spun faster when things warm up.

you can download msi afterburner and it allows setting a custom fan curve

Edit: im so blind. you wanted to set a curve for case fans; afterburner is only gpu. as others suggested, you can do it through bios

You can use third-party software like SpeedFan, which is universal. Since you can use a Gigabyte motherboard, you can head over to their site and pick up their Thermal Console utility. It isn't as detailed and feature-rich as SpeedFan, but is far simpler and has a more user-friendly UI. Setting up a fan curve is click and drag, or you can choose from 4 built-in profiles; Quiet, Standard, Performance, and Permanent Full Speed. Personally, I use the 'quiet' profile and I think it's great. It will also allow you to adjust your CPU fan curve, to an extent.

Bios settings allow you to configure it from that level. If you don't mind running extra software, speedfan is a universal choice but can be difficult to understand / configure. Here is another thread from a few years ago with a good guide to get you started if you decide to go that way.

I downloaded speedfan, but I can't figure out how to use it. I usually pick up how to use new applications pretty quick, but the speedfan interface didn't make a bit of sense to me... Any good tutorials for it?

Post on the forum or look for some on YouTube. I gave up trying to use it and just used the Gigabyte app I was talking about- it does the job for me. It even lets you set up fan curves in the UI, but the application often freezes and crashes when setting fans to fixed RPM speeds, to be wary of that.

It goes by Easy Tune for Gigabyte's system but it's fairly limited from what they've done and only offer tier to controls instead of full fan curves, you best bet would be to use Speed Fan as the others have suggested.
