Apache error with localhost

Hi guys, 

i'm currently playing around with databasing (mysql and php) I've been doing this for a couple weeks now and have come up with quite a cool little practice website however, on friday evening i went to do some more work on it and when trying to access localhost in my browser i came up with the following error (photos included).

 

I have literally tried everything, followed every forum i can find yet nothing seems to be working, has anyone got any ideas as to how it broke itself?

 

If you need anymore info or screenshots please do say, i'm just losing my mind over this

Try reinstalling completely? Maybe try Xampp for the sake of simplicity? I wish I could offer more assistance, but I've always used Xampp for local development, and there's essentially zero setup/config to be done.
