/r/MicrosoftSoftwareSwap Questions

I just have a couple of hopefully quick questions about the MicrosoftSoftwareSwap subreddit.

1. How do the sellers actually get there keys? I assume they buy them in bulk at a reduced price, use the amount of keys they need, then sell the rest?

2. Is it worth it to buy keys off of there? Or should I pay retail price from somewhere like NewEgg?

3. Could anyone recommend me a seller they've personally bought from?

The sellers get keys in any number of ways.

Either buying bulk retail keys from their regions, or reselling now unused bulk commercial keys that are bought at a significant discount.

Depends on if the deal is good or not, generally if its over 30$ ignore it and go to kinguin for the key.

The mods on the SWS page are reliable enough; i've bought from a couple of them in the past.

I've used it twice and never had an issue. I'll go find the sellers I've used.

they are usually MSDN/BizSpark keys, they're legit but not meant for resale. my machine is activated with one from my personal MS DreamSpark (School service they get via enterprise agreement) and it works fine.

Prices are a little high for these types of keys.

From experience if MS finds out you're selling keys from an enterprise agreement etc they will void all of your keys. It's all MSDN, because the MSDN software selection is as wide as this.

idk
