Dual Channel question

Hello, guys

For some reasons two of my 4 slot of RAM are dead. I have just a question, is there any way to change the dual channel modules with a soft or something? I still have 2 usable slots, but they are not in dual channel.

Motherboard: Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 Rev 3.0

Ram corsair 16 GB - 8X2

You can't change which slots are used for dual channel. Thats a hardware connection. Dual channel doesn't make a big difference, don't worry abou tit.

Dual channel should make connection between ram and CPU twice faster if i'm not wrong, isn't this a big difference ? :)

It's only twice as fast in MB/s, it's not faster latency wise (and can be even slower than Single Channel in this regard).

Normal (ie. non-Server) CPU's won't gain much from bandwidth alone (if it's good enough - that's it). Latency is more important for them (since getting data ASAP is crucial for them).

In short :
Bandwidth = (i)GPU,
Latency = CPU.

CPU : Core i7 6950X @ 4.26 GHz + Hydronaut + TRVX + 2x Delta 38mm PWM
MB : Gigabyte X99 SOC (BIOS F23c)
RAM : 4x Patriot Viper Steel 4000MHz CL16 @ 3042MHz CL12.12.12.24 CR2T @1.48V.
GPU : Titan Xp Collector's Edition (Empire)
M.2/HDD : Samsung SM961 256GB (NVMe/OS) + + 3x HGST Ultrastar 7K6000 6TB
DAC : Motu M4 + Audio Technica ATH-A900Z
PSU: Seasonic X-760 || CASE : Fractal Meshify 2 XL || OS : Win 10 Pro x64
