Posted March 9, 2016 So recently my grades haven't been the best. By not the best I mean I have 3 A's, 1B, and 3 C's. The C's are only in classes like Algebra, Trig, and Chemistry. So classes you have to pay attention as most material I don't know yet. The problem is in every class period except two, gym and yearbook, I daydream. It isn't just like a thought here and there but full on tunnel vision and no blinking for 10 minutes. I am not tired as I am constantly bouncing my leg and tapping my fingers. I also go to bed at 10 and wake up at 7 so not a lack of sleep. I also sleep very well. As soon as I close my eyes I am asleep and only wake in the morning when I am ready. Most classes I sit there and I listen I get it look at what we are doing. I keep watching then thoughts what happens if this what if blah could I do this. Then the class is over and I don't know what I just wrote down and what they said. I am listening because I have the concepts of what it is and a quick glance at the book later fills in the holes. This doesn't happen at home but that is probably because when I get that feeling I go off and do something and am not trapped in a desk. I also have a hard time studying. I can usually get through it if it is the only thing I have to do that night otherwise if I have other homework I am gone. I just stare at it and my mind is gone doing whatever thinking about everything. It doesn't bother me much as I like staring and day dreaming because I can think the best and it is very relaxing. But what I don't like is how it is affecting my grades. Any fixes or help? Posted March 9, 2016 It sounds like you aren't interested in class, those classes are so unbearable that you just drift away in your own thoughts. It happens to me a lot. Heres what works for me: Talking to friends before class, gettig enough sleep, and sometimes I just try to distract myself from daydreaming. Distracting yourself isn't going to directly help you focus though. Really, just get a glimpse of reality, get enough sleep, and talk to your friends about stuff, is what I'm trying to tell you here. Posted March 9, 2016 The classes you're day dreaming in are because you don't enjoy them. I was always like it throughout school was never interested in classes but luckily knew enough to pass everything and get me to where I wanted to be. In the UK the school system is a little different. I got C's in everything apart from Maths and English. This allowed me to go to college. Much the same I would drift off. It wasn't much of an Issue as Maths was easy and so was Computing but I decided I didn't like learning that way and pursued an Apprenticeship. In my Apprenticeship I am now learning about the vast amount of systems and different processes within an Intergrated steel Plant (Making Iron aswell as Steel) I'm on above minimum wage whilst gaining Practical Qualifications. I'm on track to have my Degree paid for by the company. Whilst still working and making contacts and moving my way up the company. The degree they're offering is going to be in Chemical Engineering or Material Engineering. I paid no attention in Chemistry until my final year when I gained a passion for it and so I focused on that. Find something you're interested in and as long as you're not failing the motivation will come man. They're still good grades! See my Build here!
