Judging from a quick scan of Amazon reviews, you should be fine with that assuming you have a decent LGA1366 MB.

You can, depending on the motherboard. Of course you won't have the freedom to increase multiplier at will, but you can increase the BCLK ever so slightly.

*newer Xeons. Didn't realise your Xeon was a 1366 chip.

Given it is a 6-core CPU it will have lower-powered cores compared to a quad core, but if you are able to OC it to 4.5GHz then you'll be more than fine.

Yeah X5650 is 1366. I got 2 L5520's in my server. I was considering swapping for 2 X5650's.

They're the absolute best value for your money according to CPUBenchmark.net!!!

Which is a garbage idiotic site that uses one benchmark :P

If you really want to know how your CPU does with passmark it's great lol.

The x5650 is still a great value.

I got my x5650 running in a p6t motherboard over clocked to 4.2ghz using the max multiplier (22) and a bclk of like 195 or so at only 1.28volts runs nice and cool. have no problem gaming on it. Apparently overclocked to that speeds they are similar to the 6 core x79 cpu's
