The more expensive ones don't look like they would be good for video.

I would check the reviews on the site. I'm not familiar with the current brands there.  Sometimes it is better to go to a store that carries the product and see how they feel.

The company I work for is starting to branch out in creative video production and we use Magnus fluid heads and they are pretty close to your price range and are very good.
