Software not controlling a Fan

i7-6700K
Go to solution Solved by LogicalDrm,

Yes and no. Yes its reason why you can't just control it like you would with PWMs. But no, that doesn't mean you can't control it. Set fan header control in BIOS to DC/voltage, if possible. You should be able to use curves or fixed speeds with some limits. Like fan not being able to run under certain (30/40%) speed and jumps in rpm being bigger than with PWMs.

in my old PC i have an i5-4460 and an asrock H97M Pro 4. the fan connectors labeled "cha_fan1" and cha_fan2" are able to be controlled by the A-Tuning software. i can control cha_fan1 but not cha_fan2. cha_fan2 is a 4 pin PWM connector and the fan (Be Quiet! Pure Wings 2) is only a 3 pin. is that the reason why i cannot control cha_fan2?
