I was in exactly the same situation as you. I wanted a windows tablet for productivity and "real" gaming. But I didn't have money. So instead I bought a cheap android tablet. It's incredible. Trust me, it's completely different from a phone. The android system has become seriously powerful, to the point that I almost never use my PC anymore. I would recommend a nvidia shield for a gaming tablet. It has so many great features. If you get a cheap convertible you will regret it within a month. They generally have celerons with 2gb of memory. It will be way too slow for anything but flash gaming. If you really want windows, the only convertible I could recommend is one of the more expensive ulrabooks such as the surface pro, surface book, xps 12/13/15 etc. I personally love the xps 12 and you could probably get one used for pretty cheap in good condition.

Lenovo tab 2 a7-10f. Only cost me R1000/$65. It's cheap, not that fast, but nevertheless has all but replaced my notebooks at school (Microsoft onenote is an excellent app and its free for android. Word is free too on android.) It's great for productivity and there are some good games too. The nvidia shield has tons of great games.

Oh by the way, I use an apple Bluetooth keyboard with an incase origami cover. It works great. Doesn't take up much room in my bag, and I can honestly say it's the best non-mechanical keyboard I have ever typed on. Apple did a great job with that keyboard. It's a shame their new rechargeable one is so boring and ugly. The old one was beautiful.
