New build

Hi

 

I'm from South Africa, I want to build my 1st PC. I've been catching up on all the components but would still like some advice.

I've already got an Acer xg270hu freesync screen. My budget is between $1200 - 1500. I would like to get the best quality possible at 1440p for gaming. The rig would also be used for multitasking. I like the NZXT H440 case. Getting a HDD and SSD. I'm not sure which generation Intel processor to use and which graphics card? Nvidia or AMD.

 

Any input would be great.

Can you give us a site to look from? As well as your budget in your currency?

I browsed for a while on our sites and it is expensive, I found someone who imports directly from the Manufacturers. So it made my budget from R25 000 to R20 000 and upgrading from a msi gtx 970 to a msi gtx 980.

 

In my currency my Budget is R20 000 to R25 000.

That is an awesome build, you don't prefer the 4790k? 

 

Also just a plane 980ti? And would it work with a freesync screen? Haven't seen a lot of posts that nvidia cards will work with freesync

Since you have a freesync display make sure to only get AMD graphics cards I would suggest a 390x, fury, or fury x and if you can go for the 6700k. It has a little more performance and better thermals. Also there is no reason to buy a CPU that is already "old"

Is there a big difference in the 930x, fury and fury x performance wise for the money? Also do you think the msi z170 pro gaming M5 mobo is good?

 

Sorry for all the questions I am not sure what brands are any good aswell.

So hello guys I'm building myself a new pc. For gaming...and I'm asking you should this do the work? I'm building a future build because new AMD APU will be able to go in dual graphic with new models of GPU

 

 

APU:AMD A10 7850K
Motherboard: MSI A68HM-P33V2 (it is an low end motherboard because I'm low on my money. I will upgrade it)
RAM: kingston HyperX FURY 8 GB 1866mhz kit
GPU: Asus Strix R9 380x 4GB
Storage: Western digital caviar blue 1 TB
SSD:Intel 535 Series 120 GB
PSU: THERMALTAKE smart semi-modular 630W
Should I go with the ATHALON 860K?

Do you know of anyone who has a freesync and amd graphics and how much it improved the quality of games?

BTW to use freesync you most use AMD not Nvidia...

Well it only matters under 60 FPS, I don´t have one but there are multiple videos on youtube on Freesync vs G-sync.

 

But basically it makes it more "smooth" under 60FPS in games. That´s all I know about it

I've read somewhere that you can download a driver or software fo a nvidia card to work with freesync but i'm not sure if it is more of a myth.

 

so you can play 4k where the fps is lower and it will be more smooth?

Running 4K smooth on new games will be slightly more expensive.

No, you would have to spend so much more for some solid frame rates that it doesn't make sense. But you can try? I personally would get at least a 980 Ti for 4K (I wish they were cheaper)
