vertical tearing

Go to solution Solved by Profquast,

Hmm, it stopped doing it, though using the same monitor with a vga cable to the iGpu and a DVI to the radeon makes an enormous difference color wise.

I'm getting vertical tearing on my main monitor which is hooked up to a radeon hd 6450, but not on my secondary which is on intel hd graphics. Could my radeon be dying? Might just be possible since it's a oem Dell card manufactured by Pegatron.

~non cogito, ergo non sum?~

You have to start eliminating points of failure. In this case you have your monitor, your cable and your GPU. Since you know your iGPU is working fine, you should test it with that first, if it doesn't fix it change the cable as well. If it still doesn't work it's a problem with your monitor, if it does work, your GPU is dying.

Not necessarily dying... It could be driver related or something similar...

So has the issue been fixed for you then?
