Hello

As mentioned above my PC sometimes suddenly shuts down (like you would unplug it from electricity). After it shuts down it doesn't turn on for up to 1 hour (When you press the power button nothing happens). And sometimes when it shuts down, it immediately tries to turn back on on its own, but doesn't go past the windows loading screen and it shuts back down and tries to repeat the process. It first happened 3 weeks ago. The second time it happened was 1 week ago. Then it happened every 2-3 days and now this happens multiple times per day.

Do you guys know what could be causing this problem?

The PC is now 1 year and 5 months old, I build it on my own.

PC spec:

  • Intel Core i7-4790K CPU
  • Cooler Master: Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler
  • MSI GeForce GTX 780 Ti Gaming 3GB GPU
  • MSI Z97-GD65 Gaming
  • HyperX 16gb RAM
  • Samsung EVO 250GB SSD
  • WD Black 1TB HDD
  • Toshiba Green 1TB HDD
  • EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G1 750W ATX 2.3
  • COOLER MASTER CM 690 III Silver

The last time I bought a computer, it did just that when stress testing it. In my case (no pun intended), the solution was simply to put in a rear exhaust fan.

It's likely not that simple in your case, but it could be worth monitoring the temps.

Will try to monitor the temperatures, but I wonder why would it work just fine for more than one year and starting to overheat just now.

Your Power Supply could be dyeing or your hard drive could be dyeing

Download crystal disc mark and view the health status of your hard drive, If it is anything besides "good" it could be dyeing, Back up all your data and replace that hard drive.

also make sure all connections are snugly in place and not loose

If your Power supply is dyeing you might hear coil whine. which could either be very quite or very noticeable. Take off your side panel and listen closely. Coil whine does not directly kill components but can be a side effect of something bad happening to your power supply

PSU dying? maybe

If it's not even properly shutting down, it's almost definitely the power supply dying. If it happened once I would say it might be a power surge if you weren't using a surge protector, but multiple times that's very unlikely. If it still happens with a new PSU you have a bigger problem.

Check temps, but while the OEM is SeaSonic on the G1, EVGA has been known to switch the caps out inside to make the PSU cheaper.  So, I have a feeling it's due to cheap caps.

The OEM is FSP on this NEX G1 model.  Although that does not necessarily mean it is bad quality, it does mean that there is a chance that is.

It sounds just like what was happening when my psu was dying other than mine had a burning smell when it would happen.

Oh right, I'm thinking of a different model 1.  Seasonic made one of the of the model 1s.  The 2 models are all Seasonic and Super Flower, iirc.

Did Seasonic make a G1/B1?

GS/PS are Seasonic.  B2/G2 are Superflower.  B1/G1 are usually FSP.

Do you have an external surge protector? could be your house's electricity, did you noticed lights dimming or something? it could be that, or the power supply dying, it's very strange since your PSU is not a "Generic" one, it's an 80 plus gold one. Remember that those PSUs generally have 5-10 years warranty, so, i'd try contacting evga support and see if they can fix/replace it.
