Hello, new member seeking some help here. First of all, apologies if this is posted in the wrong section, or if it breaks any rule in any way, shape or form.

Now, a while ago I have built myself a computer : Asus X99 Deluxe motherboard, i7 5820k CPU, 2 x 2 x 8 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX, EVGA 980 Ti SC ACX 2.0, Corsair H110i GT cooler, all inside a Corsair Obsidian 750D case.

Last night, while I was finally installing some speakers, I have noticed something like a drop of liquid inside the case. At first, I thought that it was my cooler leaking, and googled to see what would be my warranty cover in case of a leak. It later turned out that the drop was some blemish of some sort (I can't wipe it off, so I'm thinking it is dried paint), but the whole situation got me thinking about my cooler leaking and destroying my PC (from reading on various fora, it seems that Corsair tends to wash their hands of any damage to other components and only replaces the cooler). So, as I am not prepared to take this risk, I am looking at replacing the AIO with an air cooler.

I am thinking of getting the Phanteks PH-TC14PE, as it seems to do its job well and I also like how it looks. My question is : will this fit in with the rest of components? I don't think that there's going to be a problem with RAM clearance (from what I've read the Vengeance LPX are 31 mm, and the Phanteks should have a clearance of at least 40 mm), but there's lots of heatsinks and other raised bits on the motherboard, which might be a problem. Also, I have the GPU installed on the topmost PCI slot / the case specifications says that it takes coolers up to 170 mm (I'm thinking that if I have to raise the fans, the cooler will be higher than that). So, is there anyone with similar configurations, that can tell me if this cooler would fit in my existing configuration?

Thank you for your help

Don't freak out aha, the chances of your cooler leaking is little to none.
If you already have the cooler you're just spending more money on worse performance.

See my Build here!

Intel 6700k -  Strix GTX 1080Ti - Corsair AX760 - Corsair Dominator 16GB 3000MHz - ASUS Maximus VIII Hero

Seagate Barracuda 1TB -  Samsung 120GB 840 - Samsung 840 EVO 250GB - Corsair H100i - Corsair Air 540 White -

I know that the chances are very slim, but they are there nevertheless, and damaging £1k worth of hardware because of a leaking cooler does not appeal to me that much. My mind is set, and an air cooler will happen one way or the other. I should have done my homework better from the beginning, but it is what it is

RAM and case will be fine with fit. I would say mobo is fine also with heatsinks. GPU is bit tricky. If it has thick backplate, you might need to move it down.

Thanks for the reply. I have found a review where this chap installed the Phanteks on a Rampage V Extreme and it was fine with his GPU (from the pictures, the backplate on his GPU doesn't seem to be thinner than the one on my 980), with maybe 5 mm to spare. According to my calculations (based on scaling images of the 2 motherboards in Autocad), the distance between the CPU socket and the topmost PCI slot on the X99 Deluxe is marginally larger than the one on the Rampage V, so I should be fine.

The bit in red is what worries me most, as it seems quite tall, and if I have to move the fans up, it won't fit in my case anymore

I'm just eyeing it out. That bit of mobo would still be lower than RAM, imo. And if RAM fits under fins, it should too.
