well I am upgrading my PC this isn't a new build. the only thing im reusing is the ram sticks and the storage device. The only thing I have on the motherboard is the cpu with its stock cooler, a 24 pin power cord, and a 4 pin cpu power cord. Also the monitor is fine, I have been using it for 4+ years till yesterday when I started with the upgrades.

Have you tried one stick of RAM or switching out slots?

Well yesterday I had fully built the PC, all my fans were in and I thought I plugged everything in. My fans turned on, the front of my PC light was on, but there was a problem the motherboard screen flashed for a second, I looked and my GPU fans were turning on and off. I also bought all these parts from Newegg. They looked new and havent been opened.

one thing you could try is to change the gpu to another pcie slot and see if that works, probobly wont work but worth a chance

well I thought for a moment about that, and I came to the conclusion that it wouldn't be the ram, even though its old generation I bought it brand new from newegg about a month ago. And this is my setup besides the case, http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ThatOneMaou/saved/NRC7YJ

So it should all work.

there is no "should work". i've gotten parts before which didn't work so i had to return them

well no what I meant was it should all fit, no compatible issues.

yes but even if it's compatible the parts may be broken from the factory which happens from time to time even tough they're tested and everything. for me it happend with a western digital harddrive and once with some crucial memory

yes thats true. I'm going to post a video in a second. Basically it shows the process of me plugging in the 24 pin power connector and the 6 pin CPU connector.

I've thankfully never had a DOA HDD, but I have had 3 sets of DOA ram, all new.

It's not a race to the bottom.

just tried the different ram slots it doesn't work. Is there a way for me to see if my CPU is working without it posting? If I'm not mistaking though, if it doesn't post its either because the power supply/cables in wrong spot, which I've checked multiple times and they are in the right spot. Or the motherboard is malfunctioning.

the only way to check the cpu is to post it, if you have another one of those motherboards then try putting it in that one. if you do this and it works then assume the mobo is dead but right now i can't say for sure since you haven't tested that
