RPi Zero support for Ethernet over hdmi?

spellmanuk

Got my hands on a raspberry pi zero with a project in mind for it was wondering if it supported hdmi over eithernet?

Had as anyone tested it? I can't seem to find a definitive answer via Google just a lot of speculation from rpi 1 schematics

if some one has the means to test it could they do me a favour and try it out before I go and spend money in adapters and such? :)

I lurk a lot

I dont think it does. The FAQ page states that it has CEC. You want HEC (HDMI Ethernet channel) to have ethernet over HDMI. Although this seems to be only associated with the RPi 1, they do acknowledge the newer models in a few of the subheadings which means that they have probably taken that into consideration and none of the RPi's have HEC unfortunately.

Scroll down to Video and it's the second link I believe.

This article also states that there is only video and audio output.

HDMI over Ethernet and Ethernet over HDMI are two different things.

HDMI over Ethernet = you are able to use an ethernet cable with two HDMI plugs at each end to transmit video signal from connected points A and B (usually using an adapter of sorts)

Ethernet over HDMI = allows you to use your HDMI cable for audio, video AND ethernet.

mm yeah, that kinda sucks to be honest, surely they have one that you can connect to the IO pins? Perhaps a straight up ethernet jack?
