My friend wants a laptop.

Price limit is 800-900 euro.

He wants it for music production.

Also some gaming (I plan  to diy an eGPU for him)

Second hand is okay

Does he need a firewire port? Some audio interfaces are connected via that.

eGPU isn't very practical as it will run you another 500-600 Eu for a decent one + PSU + Case + connector(s)

There is no "gheto" version - you NEED thundebolt and a compliant casing for the GPU and a means of powering it. You also need to set it up and it's not as easy as you might expect. It also results in a needlessly expensive laptop with hardware that often bottlenecks anything above a 380 and has a 13' screen

I'd look into the Dell inspiron i7559. I think it was named something like that.

The laptop requires Thunderbolt and an enclosure, both of which are considered preemo products. Unless your laptop has a beefy CPU then it will bottleneck as well.

its about 300-400 euroish i estimate.

Also its quite old so i dont know about now

I wouldn't use that.

 

If you really want one have a peek online for PCIe-Thunderbolt adapters/enclosures, you're doubtlessly going to find many. Some are sub-300 USD.
