Hey everyone. I'm quite new to building computers, and I've been recommended this site for its friendly help :) (Ok so I was using reddit before, so anything's an upgrade from that :P)

But I was wondering: Freesync/GSync change the monitors refresh rate to match up with your fps... So does having a 144hz refresh rate monitor actually make a difference? If you get a 60hz refresh rate freesync (or gsync) monitor, will it cap out at 60 fps or something? Please help, I'm confused o.O

Thanks!

You need to check the Freesync/Gsync range of the monitor. If you enable Vsync then it will cap the FPS, else it will not cap and you might see tearing/juddering when the FPS went over/below the range.
