Hey guys,

This is my first PC Build and I would like to know your thoughts on it and areas where I can improve.

PC Part List - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6jwzzy

Thanks in advance!

Great SSD choice! I think you should buy the WD 1TB Blue 7200rpm instead of the seagate drive in the list now,

Yup yup. Personally I prefer Nvidia cards but I did put an R9 390 in my friends build and I'm I did because he's running a modded Skyrim and is probably enjoying the extra vram so it's always good to keep the games you want to play in mind

Thanks! I'll look into the HDD but what are your opinions on a wifi card?

Do you guys have any options for a wifi card that will it be supported by my motherboard?

if you dont need nvidia's features like shadowplay or game stream co-op, you might wanna get a r9 390, slightly better performance in games for a lower price

as for wifi card, try getting a motherboard with built in wifi, that'll cost more but might save u pci slots for future expansion

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Yer no. That PSU is just as bad as the CX.

Change the PSU to an EVGA B2, G2, GS or GQ or Any PSU from XFX or Seasonic.

I personally use a PCIE wi fi card and it works great, but your mileage may vary. I do hear they're better than the USB ones. Also about future expansion, they only take up like one PCIE 1x slot, a slot which may not be used otherwise.

In the grand scheme of things, it'll probably be fine. IF he got a more powerful card then I would probably recommend a better PSU but its not like the 970 is really that power hungry

He would probably be fine even with a R9 290x, but that is no excuse to have a crap PSU.

Fair enough. I mean I got a second hand SeaSonic so I'm safe but some of the better PSUs are pricey and every penny counts in cheaper builds

A computer with something better than a GTX 950 should have a good PSU.

Don't get a Radeon by Asus, they can barely cool the GPU. There are a lot better and cheaper alternatives. Switched to Skylake, got a faster processor, changed the PSU to one with stellar performance and got you a bigger, reliable SSD.

The ASUS R9 390 has absolutely shite cooling. Sapphire (IMO) makes the best, followed by MSI then XFX and Powercolor.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.
