Hi! I have a NAS server, and for some reason I want two NIC`s in my server. I have the standard gigabit onboard and I want to buy a second one. I read somewhere that I can get more reliabe transfer speeds with a second NIC.
Is it posible to run both NIC`n on the same time or should I only use the add on card? :)

You can aggregate the two together, but unless you're reaching the limit of 1gb transfer speeds or have many users hitting the server very hard all at once it's not really worthwhile.

PSU Tier List | CoC

Gaming Build | FreeNAS Server

i5-4690k || Seidon 240m || GTX780 ACX || MSI Z97s SLI Plus || 8GB 2400mhz || 250GB 840 Evo || 1TB WD Blue || H440 (Black/Blue) || Windows 10 Pro || Dell P2414H & BenQ XL2411Z || Ducky Shine Mini || Logitech G502 Proteus Core

it should give no problems to use both nics at once.

as for speed stability, i'm not sure if it'll impact much, but its worth the experiment i guess. a gigabit nic is like €15...

Exactly :)
Doesn`t hurt to spend 15 euros to test.

I need a 10GB NIC and switch to reach 1GB transfer speeds.
Now I am on 100-125MB\s so that`s enough :)
Just want to test it and see if it`s worth it

well, i was going for 4 of those NICs on one card, which didnt end up being 4 times the price, because intel makes sense xD

and yeah, my budget was also aimed a bit higher than "teenager without a job"
