Hey all,

I have a problem to overclock my i5 6600k to 4.2 Ghz.
My current setup is:
- Asus Maximus viii Ranger
- i5 6600k
- EVGA GTX 980 SC
- cooler master silent pro m2 720w

So i did the following steps like seen in a video:
- Update Bios
- Set Sync all cores to 42
- Set voltage adaptive mode, +, 1.25V

When i save the changes and go to windows i see the following like seen in the attachement.

So the problem is it's not going higher then multiplier "33x".
Any advice?

Thanks in advance,

MW

PS: Sorry for my bad English

The only time I've seen something like this happen is when modify TurboBoost settings.

Dear James,

thank you for the quick response.
Do you maybe have any advice how to overclock so it's always on 4.2 ghz?
But also when i stress the CPU it's not going higher then 3.3 :/

Kind regards,

MW

If its on 3.3 even on load, then I don't think its a TurboBoost issue. Did you try changing your settings in the UEFI/BIOS? If so, try resetting the UEFI/BIOS to default configuration.

I did set everything in the BIOS and i was testing something and then it was stuck and didn't boot. So i had to clear my CMOS, after the clear i set everything back in the BIOS for the overclock. But still the same issue...

Kind regards,

MW

Turning off speed step with ensure that the processor is running in the highest frequency. I'm not really why you have that issue. Also try turning off Turbo Boost.

Wil try this. Thank you for your time sir.

Kind regards,
