Need a new Audio Setup

Go to solution Solved by bchampion96,

On the 6i6 it will work fine just using one of the inptus, it has a very good headphone amp and it has direct monitor. what else do you want?

Just the single input to remove one step of the editing process :P S'all good though. I think I'll be getting one. Thanks for your help :)

How could more inputs be a bad thing? I would definitely go with the the 6i6 like Creeping moth suggested. :)

Hey guys,

So I need a new audio setup. I currently use an M-Audio Fast Track to record sound from my mic for videos and skype (via XLR). It has RCA on the back and a direct monitor button on the front (both features that my new setup will need). The only problem is the guitar input on the front causing issues with Dxtory. I'm going to use this interface for my music setup.

I'd like you guys to suggest a new setup for me.

I'd like to have an interface with XLR input (a must), some way of getting sound from my PC (be it via the same interface or a headphone amp), direct monitoring (probably means it need to be an audio interface and not an interface and amp) and RCA output.

My headphones are AKG K550 and my mic is an Audio Techncia AT2020 (XLR version).

Please ask question if I don't make sense and thank you!

Here's the Scarlett page: http://uk.focusrite.com/usb-audio-interfaces

I have a 6i6 and it's also fantastic.

Thanks for that link. Looks pretty awesome. The problem here is I'd like just ONE input on the front. This is basically just me being lazy. When I record videos with Dxtory, game audio comes out from both channels, but my voice is only recorded to left instead of being mono out of the left and right. Ideally, I'd like an audio interface/headphone amp combo with direct monitor on the front, headphone out, mic in and RCA on the back.

Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. My dad has one ans it's fantastic, everyone you will speak to will think the same. They have models with more inputs and such if you want them :)

Another option is the M-Audio MobilePre, though I would still go with the 2i2, It is cheaper and can reach 24bit/96khz
