G.Skill Aegis 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory will fit under the Hyper 212 EVO fan in its normal mounting position. Also a touch less expensive than the RipjawsV.

EVGA 210-GQ-0650-V1 650W, a less expensive but equally good psu. Only semi-modular.

Then why a 980? A 970 would be about a hundred dollars cheaper and plays almost everything at 60fps in 1080p on high, including Crysis (one of the most currently demanding games for GPUs) http://www.anandtech.com/show/8568/the-geforce-gtx-970-review-feat-evga/8

Cuz id rather just get it now and a 1080p monitor then just upgrade the monitor at a later date

What's the difference between the two ram kits ?

Performance wise there is no difference. The RipjawsV have a taller heat sink that is solid red with a bit of black. The Aegis modules are standard height and have a black heat sink with a red design. Heat sinks are more for show than anything else on DDR4 modules.

Yeah I'm kinda taped for money so I'm looking around for a 27" 1080p for now

Comparative build, $50 cheaper.  Why are you getting a 980?  That is a bad value card and it will only become worse as DX12 titles start appearing over the next few years.

$1687

The Maxwell cards have no hardware support for ASync compute, they offload the work to the CPU.  AMD supports ASync in their current cards.  DX12 will slowly be introduced in modern titles and AMD clearly have an advantage.

Newer Pascal GPUs from nVidia will probably have hardware support for ASync.

What would you recommend then for just pure gaming ? But something that will hold its own for a bit till I can upgrade .. 1080p

Not the easiest question to answer.

nVidia - CUDA support, Gameworks support, and generally release game day drivers(game day drivers is not a big deal for me)

AMD - Price and DX12 hardware support

Right now, a R9 390/GTX 970 ($300) would do great at 1080p.  I personally would do the R9 390 over the GTX 970 (even the 980 because of the price).  I don't want to pay for a card today, then have it crippled by DX12 a year from now.  It would leave a sour taste in my mouth.

I am not a big Gameworks fan, so losing that is not a thing for me.

I know what I am getting on the AMD side:  A card that ages well.

That should save you some money to put towards a good monitor.

Are you going 144Hz? or 60Hz IPS? or 1440p 60Hz IPS?

Honestly I have no idea I know I'd like a 27" tho lol and I'm content with 1080 but if there is a 1440 then I'll take it I guess
