I still didn't buy my mobo (Rampage V Extreme) but I ordered a Genuine Asus ROG Enthusiast SLI Bridge Graphics Card Bridge 2-way.

I saw a review over at PC Part Picker that the PCI-e slots on this mobo has a furthur away distance between each other than other mobos.

So will I be able to use the SLI Bridge with my 2 GTX 980 Tis or no?

Please, if you can help, reply ASAP so that if it does not work I can cancel the order before it's too late.

Thanks.

Afraid not bud, the x99 chipset board will only support SLI in the set up off Card 1 in PCIe slot 1 and card 2 in PCIe 3, on your particular board slot 3 is the one after the black slot (so i suppose slot 4 in other terms) This means you need a 3 way SLI to be used as a 2 way which does work. I could easily be wrong but just my thoughts. Have found this to justify my reasonings: https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards-Accessory/ROG_Enthusiast_SLI_Bridge/

Just out of curiosity, which chip are you using on the asus board. hopefully a 5930k for those extra PCIe lanes. Though a 5820k will run the sli perfectly.

Also, have a look at this picture 163327.9cece500adae27a297beb420fc87c618. he has 2 Titan Xs in 2 Way SLI with that bridge, soo...?

@Kreez G. Please no "5960X is overkill for dual GTX 980 Tis" comments, I switched to 2x Titans Xs

Was never my intention to say such a thing. More along the lines of damn it dude! i'm currently using the 5820k with an R9 390. honestly, though never will be a dual titan x with a 5960X beast, It does do rather well in gaming. Couldn't help but notice the 2 quad channel memory kits too, I have to admit, i crave all that set up. I can see why the ASUS ROG SLI bridge is a want right now, the bendy SLI bridge looks out of place but 'works'. For the SLI bridge You need whats called the 2-way-M. If you measure the two slots for SLI then it will be either 60mm or 80mmwhich should dictate which SLI you need to buy. it will probably be 60mm

A lovely build, goes with out saying it smashes the scores on benchmarks. With the water cooling there will be no doubt some over-clocking too. Again, just out of curiosity, what are your clock speeds, voltages that sort of stuff on both the GPUs but mostly the CPU. you dont have to reply though, i know... my curiosity will be the death off me one day.
