Hi guys,

I am aiming for a INR 60000-70000 build ($1000 approx). I have shortlisted these item. Comment on the selection and/or if a better part should be bought.

Intel i5-4690K

Cooler Master Hyper TX3 54.8 CFM CPU cooler

ASRock z97 Pro3

Corsair Vengeance 2x8 GB DDR3-16600MHz

Samsung 850 Evo 120GB SSD

Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD

EVGA GTX 960 4GB Superclocked

NZXT Phantom 410

Corsair CSM 550W PSU

BenQ GW2265HM 60Hz 21.5" monitor.

If you have an idea that I wouldn't get a certain part, recommend an alternative.

Maybe a R9 380 4GB with that i5 could be a better choice.

I recommend a different power supply, it's usually those low end ones from corsair that are rig killers. Something like one from Seasonic because of their high reputation for "safety" as I'm told would probably be a better choice.

Other than that, it looks like a nice build, good stuff

Get one stick of  8 Gb DDR3 instead of the X2 4GB... Its a cheaper option and leaves you room to expand in the future.

Dual channel is better

I didn't say it wasn't. But maxing out your upgrade ability now and limiting your future improvements now is not always the best way to go.

He is paying (slightly) more for lower capacity sticks, at a time where DDR3 is slowly being phased out. Getting the single 8gb stick and paying another 30$ down the road for better performance is the way to go.

The major reason of selecting an Nvidia card over a AMD is because of the heat output of AMD cards. I have a AMD based laptop and the temperature hit a 95 degree Celsius due to ambient temperature being nearly 40-45 degrees in summer.

I have shortlisted 2x8GB  with total of 16 GB memory. I have maxed out my 8 GB memory stick on my laptop a couple of times and don't want that to bottleneck my performance.

If you where buying a 290 Or 280 AMD card i would understand your choice. But owning a 2GB 960 myself, I wish I bought the 380. Its cooler is MUCH MUCH better then its previous model and cooling really isn't an issue anymore, in some cases can even run lower then the 960.

That plus the better performance overall and not being limited by a 128Bit Bus.. It's just a much better choice.

Thank you. The 960 is out then.

With a good cooler it can stay around 70-80 degrees or even less. Your laptop can never get as good cooling as a desktop card can.
