Hey guys. I'm been overclocking my CPU for years now with all the power saving features completely off, but with time the chip's been getting hotter and hotter. So, can I safely turn on C3/C6 States or maybe EIST when overclocking or do you always have to turn the power saving features off?

Thanks for the help.

Older stuff it was usually what everyone did. Since 1150 socket though it's viable to leave them on.

With time it's getting hotter... might sound more like you need to redo the thermal paste and take an air compressor to the fans/radiator to clean out any dust. Be sure to hold the fan blades, its not good on the bearings to let them free spin hitting them with a ton of PSI.
