Processor compatibility

Hey, Im trying to build a budget hackintosh. I was wondering if the intel core i5 2500k would work with the Gigabyte Z87-HD3 motherboard. I know that they both have the same socket type but i don't know if the 2500k will work with a Z87 chipset.

no they will not work together. The 2500K is an LGA 1155 CPU and that Z87 motherboard is LGA 1150.
