What is this?

fogfog

So I got this pretty old looking mystery pc card with a connector that looks BA.

I have no clue what this would be used for....

It seems to me it should be some server gear, or at least not consumer grade.

The connector that looks like a PCI is actually too long for such slot. It's about 13 cm (a bit over 5 inches) long end to end.

Looks like it could be an old Centronics parallel 36 pin- they were used for connecting printers to PCs before USB I believe.

Yep definitely a parallel card that fits a ISA (pre-PCI) slot.  It's consumer grade from the 1980's.

Is it just me or does it look like it has an IDE port on the top?

But yeah, that would still be a consumer card just looking at the components.

Actually you're right, it's a SCSI controller card with a external parallel port.

AHA!!! Eureka!

(Only took like 3 minutes and some Google search magic. #ThanksDebate)

Also, looking at higher res images I think I'm wrong, this does look server grade as that isn't the brand of capacitor I thought it was.

Thanks guys!

Seems that SCSI is pretty outdated now I guess.

Keeping the card though, goes in the box with the others. (One of those others is a Geforce 6700 XL :o)
