RAID vs Rapid Mode

Is anyone able to tell which is faster? We're talking about Sata III connected SSDs (2 least) vs 1 Sata III SSD in Rapid mode. 

 

For my ease of access: Audio Reference, Audio Gear Recommendations, Sensitivity and Impedance, PSU Whitelist, PSU Tier List, 80 PLUS Efficiency and What It Means, Display Types, Cable Adapters

Rapid Mode...it uses RAM as a cache (Downside is that you give up a bit of your system memory)...it's far faster than RAID (Well, once everything is cached to the memory correctly). If you have a true need for speed, I would push you towards NVMe drives.

Hahaha the thing is I already have 2 Samsung 850 PROs. I've been using one on Rapid mode and the other one I put into a laptop that was breaking down. It used to be in my own laptop. 

850 PRO with rapid mode feels so fast :D I wonder what M.2 would feel like. I've never tried.

Ah, I see. Yeah, that Rapid mode. I'm still plenty happy with my Sandisk Extreme Pro, but yeah, I do want to know how it feels to have the Intel 750 / Samsung 950 Pro drives though. Some day when I get more money...

I bought them on Black Friday for 40% off on Newegg so quite a bit of the cost was cut :D
