Should I use NAS drives?

Should I use nas drives in my server? What is the benefit of spending the extra money for a nas drive for my server.

They're spinning not as fast (-> less noise), they can be packed together tightly :D

I believe they are designed to withstand more vibration and heavier/more continuous read/write load

Yes if you are using more than 3 drives than I would want NAS drives.

Is it worth the extra price? Im building 2U server running in a raid configuration so there may be 8 drives running. Is the power saved really worth it too?

If you are running 8 drives, then NAS drives are the only option. That many drives so close you are asking for a failure if you use say WD Green drives.

@Jhumm It's probably the only option besides enterprise grade drives (which are MUCH more expensive)...
