Yep, so while playing TF2 my cpu is reaching 100% usage. I'm also using a FPS config that reduced my graphics to a bare minimum so i can play with really high FPS (that's not the problem, it runs even worse and still reaches 100% usage w/o the config)

Those are my specs:

Gtx 950 FTW

Phenom II x4 955 (might not be OCable since my pc is pre built and 3-4 years old)

500w psu

8 gigs of ram

foxconn 2a92 mobo

I really don't see why my CPU is reaching 100% usage. The temps are around 45-50 degrees

I've been planning to buy a new mobo anyway with a new cpu so i can overclock my gfx card, but this CPU should be more than capable to run this game?

Sounds about right, the game is optimized like shit.

I'm not even sure what to tell you, OP. It's not that your CPU's weak, because it isn't.

Gets really annoying. FPS dips below 30 and sometimes stutters for half a second.

Tell me about it. It's like that on my laptop only worse. Thanks, Valve. All I can say is, you're gonna have to deal with it because Valve's balls deep into CSGO.

Ive closed some apps and it seems to be okay now with the cpu usage (still hits the 90's though), yet the game still drops below 30 fps. Sad :(

Yeah, it really sucks. I can manage the same frate at ultra low 640x480 as I can ~ultra 720p.

Interesting... I don't play TF2 but since @Dan Castellaneta mentioned CS GO, I find that CS GO is actually pretty decently optimised... you hardly need more than an i3 or even Pentium to run CS GO just get a decent card (a 750 or 750 Ti will do)

BRRRT!

Oh, i don't have any issues with CS GO at all, maybe a half a second freeze when i get the kill cam, but otherwise nothing, no FPS drops or anything

Wouldn't settings your graphics to super low offset most of the stuff to your CPU instead of your GPU? I've heard that before and never really knew if it was true but I tend to stray away from bare minimum settings to try to put most of the graphical work on my GPU instead of my CPU.
