long story short, since yesterday, everything I download goes to my SSD, while my computer does know I have a HDD, it just sends it to my SSD. Now I am 100gb out on my SSD and I still got mods to download. Can anyone help me make files and downloads go to my HDD instead of my SSD? and is there a way to clean the un-needed files off my SSD?

Please.

To get the global default back just set the physical location for the downloads library to point to the HDD. Right click on Downloads in File Manager, Properties, Location, change it, save and exit. If it's a specific program doing it, you need to address the issue in the program settings. For example in Steam it's settings -> Downloads -> 'Steam Library Folder'.

You can clean the files by clicking on them and pressing delete on your keyboard. Use CTRL or Shift while clicking to select multiple files or folders.

so when I go to change it, it says C: then some other stuff. my SSD is c:, and my HDD D:, so do I just change that first bit to D: instead of C:? or am I completely lost?

Yup. That's right.

okay, so I had a weird thing pop up when I hit apply with the D: <other stuff>, but when I selected move, and selected my HDD, it all went smooth, but now instead of saying C: <other stuff> it now just says "D:/" is this okay?

okay, so now my downloads folder in my library says "D:/"... let me explain what I did, maybe you can correct me. I went to my library, right clicked downloads, went to properties, clicked on location, the box said C:\user\<my name>\downloads, I clicked move, went to this PC, selected my hard drive, it switched the name to D:\ , I clicked OK because apply would have sent all my files (which I think meant my SSD) to my HDD, and now I'm here.

Note: I am on windows 10 if that changes anything.

Yes it is completely fine. If you want everything to be downloaded in D:\

I would recommend make a folder in D:\ for downloads.

I have the same setup and this is mine.
