Hello!

I am building me a new PC. I am going to use this PC strictly for gaming and gaming only. I just have on small problem. I have all my other parts picked out but I have about $200 left over to spend on a CPU and I don't want to make the wrong decision with the CPU. I really like to overclock and preferabbly need a unlocked CPU. I'm going to lay out the parts I'm going to use and hoping you guys can help me. Also this is my first time on the forums and I don't know if I posted this in the right section.

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 WindForce 3

RAM: 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance Low Profile DDR3 1866MHz

HDD: Seagate 1TB desktop HDD

SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 120GB

CPU cooler: Corsair H110i GT 280mm OR Coolermaster Hyper 212x

Hope you guys can help me out! Thanks!

You have posted in the correct section.

Have you included your motherboard, with the CPU into $200 that is left over?

Nothing to see here ;)

If you have decided on spending $200 for the motherboard and CPU, you will be well off with the AMD FX-8320, and the Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P. It's a bit over $200, but to lower the price even more, you can go for the FX-6300 which is also compatible with the motherboard.

Nothing to see here ;)

Yes I didn't include my mobo because it is going to depend on the CPU socket and I'm getting my motherboard for free so I can spend all the money on the CPU

Your best bet is the i5 4590. If you wanna overclock you're gonna have to spend another $25 for a i5 4690K.

Motherboard for free? That's awesome! Then go get the i5-4690k (around $30 more). Although little more than $200, it is very much worth it!

Nothing to see here ;)

Pretty much this. If you cant afford it, drop the cooler to a 240mm one. Change the SSD to a cheaper one (if I recall correctly, adata SP 550) as well.

If you are gonna get the i5-4690k, but you think it's too expensive, drop the dual-140mm rad, and go with the H60i, H80i, H90i, or even the H100i GTX, from Corsair. But there are also decent air-coolers, which you can buy instead of the H60i (which isn't worth the mess of a radiator-fan duo on the exhaust fan mount, which looks ugly).
