A question about videos?

A good friend of mine has a video that he knows has been cut to misrepresent him and he wants me to analyze the footage to find hard evidence that is has been cut. I was thinking since it was a cheap security camera then maybe there would be some frame tearing in the first frame of the video. Do you guys have any good suggestions?
