Guys, I might get a new mouse and was wondering if I should buy this one. It is really cheap and the reviews seem good, should I buy it from this seller? It is refurb.

Well, it's a decent mouse, not a bad idea for that price. However, that mouse has issues with the sidegrips wearing out over time, so I would be wary of that.

I own and use, sorted from newest to oldest: SteelSeries 6Gv2. Microsoft SideWinder X4. Mionix Naos 7000. Zowie EC1 Evo. Microsoft SideWinder X8. Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0. Dell U2414H. This issue was resolved a while back. My white variant is eight months old with no issues whatsoever. 

 

Some advise, don't get the glossy white one because it attracts a lot of build up.

I read that they supposedly fixed it with a new revision around the time they changed the branding from Rival to Rival 300. However, I have read cases of people who had issues with the grips wearing out after that time.

However, it seems like a rather extreme issue, just like every other case of coating melting or wearing out, which really doesn't strike me as something that would ever happen consistently for all users.
