Having actual problems with microphone

Dear LTT community

I've had some problems with my mic this last week. The mic doesnt pick up when i try to use it on Teamspeak, Skype and any games. The weird thing is that even though it doesn't pick up my voice through the mic normally when i speak, it feeds when i listen to anything through my headphones like music or youtube and in teamspeak, when i use the voice detection test, it picks up on anything playing in the background.

I have tried to disable and uninstall the microphone in device manager and enable and re-install it. The recording devices don't seem to pick anything up.

 

I tried asking for help on r/techsupport but got one response which was: Did you plug in your headset? 

I have Windows 10.

CPU: i5-4460

GPU: R9 390

MBO: Asrock B85M PRO4

Headset: Razer Kraken

Please help.
