Yep. And most new ODD do not have the vibration dampening found in older ODD (1998 Diamondmax 24x CD drive, 2x rubber vibration dampeners on each side inside the ODD itself, same with my 2004 Pioneer ODD).

If you want quiet ODD then I think you'll need to go with older ones. My current Poiner x16 IDE drive (2004) is still extremely quiet as far as ODD go and is no where near as bad as my Ti 20X SATA DVD drive
