So I just got a new laptop and I looked at my mouse and keyboard and said "maybe I should upgrade?" So I found an absurdly cheap mouse (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA3EX3TA5423) and I'm still keeping eyes open for a new keyboard maybe. I may not change my set up at all, I like the fit and feel of my current devices (a $20 logitech m325 from 3 years ago and an old compaq mechanical from 2002) but somehow, I feel like I'm buying a new Ferrari and reusing the tires off an old pickup. Anyone have any thoughts? I'm still recovering from the shock of my new laptop, so the cheaper the better.

Current Rig: ASUS Prime Z390-P, Core i7 9700k, 48GB DDR4 3200 G.Skill Ripjaws V RAM, EVGA RTX 2080 Super Black, 512 GB NVME SSD boot drive, 2TB HDD, 360mm CoolerMaster MasterLiquid AIO, 1200W Rosewill Photon power supply

Former Rig (RIP 11-29-19): Cyberpower Fangbook 4 Xtreme   CPU: Intel i7-6700K   GPU: Nvidia 980m 8GB   RAM: 24GB DDR4 2133   SSD: 250GB Samsung 850 EVO   Main Drive: 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 300

Did i scare you with a $1.99 mouse or a decade old keyboard?

Yeah, I had doubts about that mouse, glad I didn't jump on it in blind cost saving hunger. Any suggestions for a man on a budget?

If you're looking for an excellent, cheap mouse, then look no further than the Logitech G100s. It has an impeccable sensor, an on-the-fly DPI switch, and a lengthy cord. My mother uses hers for League of Legends, and she says it's one of the best "cheap" purchases she's made.

How long has she had it? does it stand over time or will i be looking for another one in a year?

Two years now, and still going strong! It's not even wearing down on the left-click or right-click. I am astonished at how nice the mouse is.

Sounds like a glowing review! I haven't used a wired mouse in a long while, but I think the upgrade to an actual built-for-gaming mouse might be worth it. I'll probably keep the wireless for travel but having the proper mouse at home could be a good idea.
