Display going off/glitching

8enjicraf2

Hey Guys,

I got a Freesync monitor yesterday but when the screen updates (like moving the mouse or opening a window) the display goes off and crackles, this only happens on DP, HDMI is fine. Anything I can do?

I have a 290x

That description of your issue is... frightening, to say the least. Crackling? It sounds like the panel may be heating up, and as it cools, the glue on the panel reacts. Can you see if it's getting particularly hot somehow?

I'm at school right now, however when the drivers aren't installed for the gpu it works fine, I forgot to mention in first post.

That's very perplexing... Could you attempt to describe the crackling in more detail? Does it sound like the plastic frame around the display creaking? Or is it more of a "peeling" sound? Also, can you verify that the issue is with the monitor, and not possibly a defective DPI port on your video card?

Imagine flicking the plastic cover over the display, half the time it does that. Other times it sounds like a loose power cable. Like those sparky sounds.

When you get home from school, can you hook up your PC to a different monitor, and test the DPI? I want to make sure that it's the monitor, and not the video card.

I don't have another DP monitor :/  I can take it back to overclockers because I got it yesterday.
