Home Theater Setup

I'm almost done building a home theater and have all the hardware but all I need is a media pc or something to stream video over. I am just good enough with a chromecast and using plex? Or should I go as far as to build a small PC just for media?

the chromecast and plex will be fine

id personally get a small pc, but its all preference
