win 10 upgrade - should I?

Hey guys,

I'm in a twist: First of all I'm pretty happy with Win 8.1 (some people may not understand this but it's the case), but I saw some points that annoy me on Win 8.1 are solved in a better way in Win 10. I have currently one laptop and one desktop running on Win 8.1, so if I would upgrade, I'll upgrade both.
Things I don't like in Win 10 is how the free upgrade is handled by microsoft (making it a recommended update, annoying gwx notifications) and some points like the dual existing settings while e.g. changing background picture and the data microsoft seems to collect. In Win 8.1 it seems easier and the other settings app is most times not needed.

Is it really worth upgrading? Just curious what points will be better in Win 10, what do you like/don't like on win 10?

P.S. running both pcs without ssds so bootup times matter

If you decide to move to Windows 10 I highly recommend doing a clean install instead of upgrading.

I did a clean install on my desktop and have had no issues. I did an upgrade on my laptop and was running into some problems, then later did a clean install and it's been fine.
