Only difference is that Laptop 1 has a FHD screen. As far as build quality and looks goes, idk. What do you guys suggest? Both are excellent for the price.

Asus. I've been given many reasons not to trust Acer over the years.

- Silverstone TJ08B-E - Gigabyte Z87M-D3H - i7 4770k @ 4.0GHZ 1.2v - 16gb Kingston HyperX Black 1600 - Gigabyte GTX 770 OC 4GB -

- Silverstone Fortress FT02 - MSI Z77 Mpower - i5 3570k @ 4.0GHZ 1.09v - 8gb Mushkin Blackline 1600 - MSI GTX 670 PE -

- Lenovo T430 (1600x900) - i5 3210m - 8GB DDR3 1333 - nVidia NVS5400M - 256GB mSATA OS - 320GB HDD-

The main difference seems to be that one has color options and the other one doesn't. Really, it's a complete tossup, though the Acer comes with a laptop bag.I can say that a lot of people will probably say ASUS though, because they often have really good quality products, though Acer is pretty good in my experience.

Even if the Acer has a FHD display?

1080p isn't going to make it more reliable.

I'm speaking from my own experience if course, it's possible this model is fine, but I've never seen an Asus laptop fail inexplicably and I've seen plenty of Acer laptops die immediately after the warranty expires.

If the HD display means a lot then by all means go for the Acer. However, it's only a 14" laptop, so at 1080p you'll be struggling to read some small print, and if you do any gaming on it, you'll likely never be setting them past 720p. So it just depends on if you really think you want the HD screen or not.

Okay, thank you. What do you think about the specs of the two in their price range of 600 USD? Are they really the best in terms of raw specs in that price range?
