PowerMac System

I want to buy a powermac G5 2.0GHZ or a G4 1.42GHZ  to play around with the older apple software but i want to know if i can use it to photoshop and do music production software. as a secondary machine

G4, not so much.

Somewhat, but not anything heavy. My 1ghz g4 machines struggle if i have more than 3 tracks on garageband.

I have 6 different g4 computers, none of them can run things like that well. Even interenet browsing is relitivly slow. Not deadly slow, but a little slow.

You might not even be able to install the latest versions of some software like Photoshop or Logic Pro.  But Adobe has released Photoshop CS2 for free, see if the Mac version is available and can run on such an old hardware.

That's another thing, it won't work on the ibm ppc chip.

 

No regular programs will.

 

I have Photoshop on one, but a old version
