Hello, I know I've posted about this issue several months ago, but I started having it again despite thinking I had fixed it.

So I have a saitek/madcatz v1 flight stick usb controller that I use primarily for flight simulation. Last night, it suddenly stopped working on me again.

The device still shows up in device manager as "madcatz v.1 stick" but the only drivers it displays are the generic windows HID compliant device drivers, not the specific drivers for the stick.

Whenever I plug it into a usb port, both 2.0 and 3.0, the blue lights on the stick illuminate for several seconds and then go dark again.

I checked in event viewer and every time I connect the device it shows up as an error, and when i select that error it shows me the message

"Metadata staging failed, result={ED121939-8007-11E5-BF9A-606C6640AAE6} for container '0x80070490'

When I click on the details tab it says the issue has something to do with Windows DeviceSetupManager, but I have no idea how to rectify that.

I'm running windows 8.1.
