GPU Clock Speed dropping down Significantly :(

Hey Community,

Recently, my GPU's Clock spped drops down significantly for a few seconds while gaming then its back to normal
This makes the game go down from 30-60 fps to 1 or 2 
I was really hoping to get a solution, Thanks

Here are my Laptop specs

 

• Intel Core i7 6700HQ Processor
• NVIDIA GTX 960M 4GB
• 16 GB DDR4 Memory

 

My GPU Usually runs at 55-66 Celsius
Why does this happen?

A quick fix is to set your power management option to performance, and not adaptive in the nvidia control panel.

Or it could be throttling, but please try the power management thing tho

Try updating the BIOS on your motherboard.

Its Already on "High Performance"

Throttling on 66 Celsius? I thought it was around like mid 70's

I highly doubt that it is throttling, but just throwing some ideas out.

Sounds like throttling. Do you have it plugged in when this happens?

Yea, i keep it plugged in while gaming (Thats when this happenes)

I found this out when dealing with a bug with my 970 locking its core clock to 540 mhz. Funny thing is that updating my drivers fix it

I think all this started to happen AFTER i updated my graphics driver, do you think downgrading it will help? maybe like the new one is a bit buggy or something?

Just revert back to your old drivers. It may solve your problem.

I'm worried your CPU is throttling. What are it's temps?

CPU is fine, like 50 Celsius but the thing which is causing trouble is GPU, It's Clock speed goes down to like 150 for like 5 secs, then comes back to normal, I'm trying to revert back to my old drivers, i hope it helps
