First thing first my configuration:

AMD R390
8gb RAM DDR3 Hyper x Fury 1866mhz x2 (16gb total)
Cooler master B700 ver. 2
Dell motherboard (still don't know the model, it's a mystery)
Intel i7 860

As you would expect, I would like to upgrade my CPU and motherboard. I would like to get a skylake processor, so the motherboard with lga 1151 socket would last for at least one more generation of CPU, but i found out that these MO doesn't support DDR3 (1.5v). So the question is, does my RAM run on a "skylake motherboard"?

If not, what should I do?
The options that I've considered are:
- i5 4690k or i7 4790 with my DRR3 RAM
- i5 6600 with DDR4 RAM (selling my actual DDR3 RAM would be a pain, because it's a recent gift...)

Thank you in advance!

I forgot to ask about new AMD CPU's! Thank's for reading my mind! xD
Do you know the release date or expected performance?

According to some sources, the expected performance is supposed be on par or greater than skylake. but take that information with a grain of salt.

As of performance, there hasn't been any leaked performance benchmarks nor have there been an exact release date but it is expected to be released Q4 2016 or early 2016

Thanks!
But still.. Will I have to change my RAM or it's going to be 1.5v compatible?
