Lows get muffled

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 10, whenever I listen to music, the sound suddenly becomes muffled and unclear only when the low-notes (sorry if I don't know the technical term) are playing. Like when there is a beat playing or the bass notes of a cello. But they moment other instruments and vocals come, the sound is fine.

 

I have a Dell laptop which came with the 'Waves Maxx Audio' and Conexant HD audio driver. When I go and 'Disable all enhancements' in the Windows Sound menu, the problem goes but the audio after that is very dull. I have tried reinstalling the driver, but it doesn't seem to work... Is there anything else I could do? Like re-installing Windows?

you could try and find different audio mixing software, but it sounds like an issue with settings inside the program itself

Is this with headphones or with the speakers on your laptop?

Both, pretty much any headphones or speakers I connect it with.

try the realtek HD audio I have it and it works fine for me....

Reinstalling windows would be a waste of time.

 

I don't know why your audio sound "dull" with enhancements turned off. Maybe your headphones or speaker suck, maybe the onboard audio hardware sucks, maybe your taste in sound or music sucks. I really doubt it is a software problem; that doesn't cause "dull sound".
