  1. 1. Which game(s) should I play for my first series of Twitch streams?

    • Lego Star Wars Saga
      4
    • Fallout 4 - New Game/Character
      3
    • Other - Please post your suggestion/reason
      3

I'm finally starting to stream on Twitch (Wed 10-11pm CST, Fri/Sat 9-11pm CST) because I got my Webcam and Yeti this last weekend. I want to make sure that I can interact with any viewers until I get comfortable with streaming so I want to play a game I'm kinda comfortable with. Right now I debating between working on a complete play through of the Lego Star Wars Saga, or starting a new game of Fallout 4 with a new character that starts will 10 points in Luck for fun or something. Which do you think I should start with? I have included an "Other" option, so if you select that, please comment with a game title suggestion and a reasoning for the suggestion, and I'll let you know if I own the game/if I can afford to buy it. Thanks!

If you want to interact with your viewers, I suggest you start by streaming games like H1Z1, many people play it, it's a team game, and you can play with your potential viewers, it's also relatively inexpensive to buy. My buddy started like that, and he's getting new followers daily when we play H1Z1 on his stream together with friends

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

If you're looking to increase your viewership, then you'll need to play CS:GO, League of Legends, or DoTA 2. Otherwise, simply play the games you wish to play, and build an audience that way. Your best bet is really just to be yourself, and play the games you like.

The idea with this was to start with a game I know fairly well so that I don't have to focus really hard on it because I can kinda get tunnel vision if I'm playing a new game and "learning" it. I don't have any online friends to play with, but I'll definitely keep H1Z1 in mind for once I have some viewers because it is a game that I have been looking at for a little bit now. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah, I thought about that, but I've never played any of them (see above) so I'm not sure I would really like them (I might, you never know), and there are so many people that play them every day that I feel like I would have to be disingenuous towards any potential followers because I don't have a strong opinion about the games. I totally agree with your last part, which is why I was thinking Lego or FO, because I love both series.

You could start a new character on Fallout 4, and then involve your Twitch viewers. From dialogue choices, to which faction you choose, to how you name things. Involve them, and make them feel a part of the experience.

That's a really good idea. I know my buddy down in New Orleans is planning on watching the streams whenever possible to try and help get people in chat, so I'll bring that up tomorrow. Thanks!

I suggest Rocket League because it's fun to play and watch (imo). You could even get the audience involved by letting them join your matches.

As pointed out above, I don't really have any regular viewers yet, but I'll definitely keep that in mind for when I start getting regular viewers and I'll make sure to mention it at the end of my first series of streams so that it will hopefully bring viewers back.

Lego LOTR saga

Unfortunately I only have The Hobbit right now, but it's definitely on my list of games to buy. I'll add that to the list.
