Hey guys!

So I thought I would show off the graphics of Star Citizen to whoever havn't got acces to the Hangar module.. I havn't seen some actual pictures/footage here on the forum so I though I'd upload a comparison between the latest graphics presets :)

Here we go: Star Citizen Patch 3(130.7077)

F5KCceq.jpg

So basicly the reason I wanted to compare the Low against the high is simply because when the hangar module was first released last week, there was NO difference in the presets as far as I could tell. So the options were more or less just place holders. But the 3rd update just came out today/yestoday the 6th of september with alot of bug fixes and the lot. And there's now an actual difference between the presets :)

So guys, tell me what you think; what are you looking forward to the most about Star Citizen? (It can be ANYTHING)

Also, I will keep updating this thread with pictures of cool things in the game, as long as I remember to. Cheers! :)

Everyone have a cool signature. I don't, so I thought I would write something.

- Cool right?

What is Star Citizen about?

Also, people say it looks amazing, I disagree.

Space dog-fighting. Like EVE but more personal and first person preference.

Hmm, well for graphics, I personally think it looks outstanding, but I guess it comes down to personal preference, if people like alot of bloom to enhance lightning effects and the like. But because they are using the Cry Engine 3, they are able to push some really unique graphical detail on a PC Platform.

Yes, can very much be compared to EVE Online, although its first person, and it's a whole other universe.

"BUT, can it run Star Citizen?"

It could maybe push a nvidia grid system, i doubt the k1 version could handle it.

NVIDIA Grid? Dude I bet the Alpha will EAT SHIELDS FOR BREAKFAST. I think, even with something like a 800 sereis card would be difficult to do...

Well, Imagine when we turn to 4k resolution on 23-27 inch screens. "Can it run Star Citizen?; sadly, not yet. -.- "

K1 uses low end gk107(gtx650) cores and the k2 has gk110 cores. the 110 would be fine, the 107s thats a different story.

Also, people say it looks amazing, I disagree.

It's still in alpha, not even beta. So it will get another layer of polish. Also it already looks pretty good even in compressed lossy MPEG youtube videos. Remember everything looks way better when your running it direct from your VGA to monitor with each pixel faithfully represented and no compression.

It's actually not even in an official Alpha state yet. They've called the hangar module pre-alpha. It will change over time as they add and fix more and more of it.

The dog-fighter "module" is the official beta step.

Well, Battlefield 3 was supposed to have 580 SLI for recommended requirements, so, i think they are just exaggerating for the sake of hype.

They are not exaggerating. These are the requirements as of now, and are subject to change.  It's ALWAYS like that, especially on graphical intensive games. They need time to optimize, and that will not happen until the end right before final release.

It looks like a 5 year old game to me. So far from the screenshots I've seen it's not even at the level of BF3.

Optimization for it is HORRID, max settings is barely achievable and the screenshots don't match in-game pixel config.

You really can't tell, from my pictures atleast, the actual graphics. But when ingame, I personally thinks it looks alot better than BF3. Tbh, I think alot of the graphics are too much in BF3, like the immense lense glare and so on.
