Laptop Hardware Failure

ravenflu
Go to solution Solved by Godlygamer23,

It seems like you have a GPU problem.

My laptop's graphics card appears to have gone coocoo. While in a match of LoL, the game crashed multiple times and then my laptop bluescreened.

I've also noticed some instability in some games before that.

As of now, it won't started up in Normal Mode. Safe Mode works and I managed to update the card's Drivers but it didn't seem to be the issue.

Screen looks pretty funky throughout startup and homescreen.

The laptops about 2.7 Years old.

Pc info:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
System Manufacturer: FUJITSU
       System Model: LIFEBOOK AH530
               BIOS: Ver 1.00PARTTBL
          Processor: Intel® Core i3 CPU       M 370  @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
             Memory: 6144MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 6004MB RAM
Page File: 784MB used, 11223MB available
        Windows Dir: C:\Windows
    DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
User DPI Setting: Using System DPI
System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
    DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled
     DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 32bit Unicode

I didn't know how to active the Graphics driver while in Safe Mode so I don't have much info on it.

Graphic card model:   ATI Mobility Radeon 550v

HALP!

Edit: I forgot to mention the battery has been dead for 6 months or so and I've been running it without one.

If I'm understanding it correctly, Windows won't boot at all, unless in Safe Mode.(apart from the graphics problem)

Booting in normal mode causes it to blue screen then repeat startup.

It was dropped once from close to a meter, but that was a week after purchasing the laptop, close to 2.7 years ago.

Other than that, it's been fine sitting on the desk all day erry day.

How old is the actual installation of Windows? Same as the laptop?

I would just say re-install Windows.

Same as it

BOOT SCAN FOR A VIRUS. This should be ur first step, before anything. It'll save you a lot of hastle and further damage if it's the problem.

I do believe it's a hardware issue. The bluescreen also mentions hardware failure though it's all funked up.

Could you get into Windows before the driver update?

Only through safe mode.

Since the initial crash normal booting just results in the same bluescreen

Will bootscanning work from safe booting?

Does the system function normally in Safe Mode? Like no graphical problems.

The only visible issue in safe mode is those lines all over the screen.

The lines can be messed with so the display itself seems fine.

Alright. If Windows is behaving that way in Safe Mode, it's likely the GPU malfunctioning, since Windows uses its driver in Safe Mode, and only the required things are run in Safe Mode.

But to confirm the problem, do you have another display to plug into the laptop?

The ext monitor doesn't detect anything from the hdmi connected to the laptop.
